Mr Agbenu is dedicated to duty, creative, a team player, punctual, self-motivated, and a fast learner, who wraps all these qualities and more, with discipline and respect.

Throughout the period, he mentored a number of young reporters in the profession and has seen them rise to senior positions over the years.

Mr Agbenu is also a Communication expert and Alternative Dispute Resolution practitioner.

He holds a Masters degree in Communication (Media Management) from the Ghana Institute of Journalism a Bachelors degree in Communication (Journalism) from the University of Ghana, Legon and Diploma in Journalism, from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Mr Agbenu also holds a Professional Masters in ADR and Certificate in Online Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ, Germany) and has done many professional training courses both locally and abroad.

He has also covered high profile assignment across the world for the Ghanaian Times newspaper.

He is a former organising and General Secretary of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and National Coordinator of Social Mobilisation Partners against Child Labour (SOMOPAC)

David Agbenu - Ghanaian Times Editor

Mr David E. Agbenu is an Executive Management Member of New Times Corporation, (NTC) Editor of the Ghanaian Times daily newspaper, as well as Head of the Editorial Department. He joined the Editorial Department of New Times Corporation in 1993 as a National Service person and later as permanent staff.

He worked in various departments of Editorial before rising to become the Editor of the flagship newspaper of the NTC in 2012.

The New Times Corporation, is a state-owned media organisation regulated by the National Media Commission. It was formally known as the Guinea Press and was established by the first president of Ghana Kwame Nkrumah in 1757 as the printing house for his Convention People’s Party (CPP).
